Why a Dragon Plush?
Sarah M.Sometimes, life offers us moments of tenderness that we keep in our memory like treasures, small things that warm the heart during difficult times. For me, that treasure has always been a dragon. Not just any dragon, but a dragon plush, the one my father cherished.
When I was little, my father and I shared simple yet precious moments. I remember the times spent watching the Puff the Magic Dragon show on television, with dragons and magic. My father had this little plush, a dragon named Puff, who was the mascot of the show. It wasn’t just a toy for him, but a companion of comfort, one that he had with him during quiet moments or even on his travels. Puff was a small object full of tenderness, always by his side, like a reminder of a gentler time.
I also remember a small amusing anecdote. When my father worked in the navy, sometimes the atmosphere would get a little tense with his colleagues. So, he would pull out his little plush, play the Puff the Magic Dragon theme song, and let the music fill the air. This small but quirky gesture would burst out in laughter. People found it funny and endearing. And, in a way, the plush became a mascot on the ships. A lighthearted way to break the ice, adding a touch of magic to moments when everything seemed more serious.
As time passed, life followed its course, with its highs and lows. There were laughter, tears, moments of closeness, but also tougher times, like for everyone. But deep down, this little dragon was always there, a symbol of comfort, of tenderness, somewhere in the corner of our lives, like an invisible thread that connected us.
Then one day, everything changed.
He was gone. Overnight, I had lost both my father and his companion... I tried to find that faithful companion to be with my father until the end. I made calls, talked with friends and family, and even tried to find the original plush on specialized websites. But Puff… he had disappeared. I desperately wanted to find that plush to pay tribute to him. Despite my efforts, I could never lay my hands on it. I didn’t know where it had gone or what had happened to it. This mystery remained unanswered.
That’s when I had an idea. This void pushed me to create something even more special. Why not create my own dragon? A dragon of my own, my very own plush, which would become my companion on my journey, an inheritance from my father, and a symbol of strength and tenderness. I wanted to offer to others the same comfort. Not to replace the original, but to give others a little warmth in their everyday lives. Because sometimes, a plush is enough to bring light, a little touch of magic, even in the darkest moments.
With this project, I want to offer others some of that warmth, that sense of security. Every dragon I create is a small piece of comfort to offer to those who need it. Whether it’s for a child who needs a friend, or an adult looking for a little tenderness in their day, my dragon is there to remind everyone they are never alone.
In a world that is often hectic, I believe a dragon plush can bring a touch of magic and comfort to those who cross its path. Every dragon I create finds its place in a family, to bring a little light and warmth. It’s not just a toy or an accessory, but a companion for life, a small piece of happiness and memory that one carries with them at every step.
